Mankato, September 4, 2008. Worldwide attention was focused on Mankato, MN today as Katolight,
a Mankato-based company for over 50 years, officially became part of a new international Tognum
power brand: MTU Onsite Energy. Mankato is now the North American production site for MTU
Onsite Energy. The new strong brand is based on the same values as the MTU sister brand:
Leadership both in innovative strength and technology, as well as providing dedicated customer
support and commitment by way of tailored system solutions.
To celebrate the occasion, an unveiling was held at MTU Onsite Energy's facility in Mankato (100
Power Drive) at which the new brand identity was presented to employees, community leaders and
members of the press. Following the reveal, employees participated in a brand lab experience to
further their understanding of the new brand as well as its promises for future growth and worldwide
impact.
This announcement will further enhance Mankato's reputation for power generation manufacturing,
strong employment and economic stability,said Al Prosser, Director of Onsite Energy Sales and
Application Engineering. "We have set forth strong growth targets for the onsite energy business
both here in North American and throughout the world over the next few years, which further
demonstrates our commitment to this business and our facility here in Mankato."
Katolight joins the other Tognum subsidiaries and divisions CFC Solutions, MDE and MTU Power
Generation under the MTU Onsite Energy umbrella as of September 2008. With the combined
expertise of these power generation leaders consolidated under one brand, MTU Onsite Energy is
uniquely positioned to offer decentralized power generation solutions through a broad range of
products to customers throughout North America.
